Team321 Coilovers can be used regardless of whether you use the Team321 Installation kit or not.

The Factory Crown Vic crossmember is relatively inexpensive ($250 – $400), but there are some limitations – like the resulting ride height and spring rate. Some of the crown vics were used as cop cars or taxicabs… These cars had heavy duty springs – which was great for their intended use. But you want a smooth ride in your classic truck, and you want to tune the ride height.

Here is a picture of the factory shocks and coil springs. No way to select your spring rate… no way to set your ride height.

These work in Crown Vics, but the spring rates of those coil springs are hit and miss… was your suspension donor used in cop car? a taxi? or grandma’s Mercury Marquis or Town Car?

In many cases, customers cut coils out of the spring to get the proper ride height… or purchase replacement springs and then have to deal with spring compressors and other tools or the expense of hiring someone else to swap out the factory coil springs for new ones. None of these are good options.

A better approach is to remove the factory shock and spring and replace it with an adjustable coilover shock & coil spring.
