Crown Vic Lower Control Arm (LCA) Trailing Arm Bushings – make your own bushing mount. Eliminate the bulky factory bushing.

 

Lower Control Arm (LCA) Trailing Arm Bushings

These trailing arm bushings fit the threaded stud on the Crown Vic Lower Control Arms.

The package consists of the following:

  • 2″ OD Steel DOM Bushing Housings (2)
  • Polyurethane Bushings (4)
  • Steel Inner Bushing Sleeves (2)
  • Aluminum Bushing End Caps (4)

Here is a photo of the various sizes that are available. 2.75″ is recommended for the Crown Vic Application

The Bushing is shown assembled (blue) prior to welding

As you can imagine, welding the bushing housing to gussets to connect it to the steel frame would melt the polyurethane bushings. With that in mind, billet aluminum end caps are included. The aluminum end caps take the place of the poly bushings during the welding process.

I will post more information as time permits but I wanted to get this info out for initial reference and feedback.

The cost for a pair of bushing assemblies with 4 aluminum end caps is $95.

 

Frequently Asked Questions about these bushings

Q: Are they necessary? why can’t I use the factory trailing arm bushings?

A: No, they are not necessary, but in many cases a custom approach is necessary for clearance of the frame rails or other components.

Q: What is the cost?

A: $95 includes shipping

Q: Why are the aluminum end caps used?

A: The aluminum end caps are the same dimensions as the poly bushings and are used during the fitting / welding stage of the install… welding would cause the poly bushings to melt.

Q: It looks like after I purchase these bushings, I still need to fabricate my own mounts – is that correct?

A: Yes, for now these bushings are what we’re offering, but we will offer mounts in the future.

Q: Are these only for the Team321 Narrow Crown Vic crossmember? Or can I use them when installing the Factory Crown Vic as well?

A: Yes, these bushings work in either application.
